It’s like he’s making up for lost time… Since emerging late last year on DFA he’s since appeared on Internasjonal and Permanent Vacation and has upcoming cuts on Hivern Discs and ESP Institute. And right now he makes his debut on French institution Biologic with these two charming explorations.
‘Hidden Springs’ has every bit of bounce you’d hope it to. A chunky palpitating intergalactic number that builds on a timeless arpeggiated bassline, it’s all about the vibrant meteor shower chords and flourishes that fly in and out of the mix. ‘Pacifico’ meanwhile hints at a slightly more earthy, Balearic tone due to its rising harmonic chimes and gentle woodwind arpeggios in the backdrop. It’s backed by two precision visions versions: firstly the unrelaxable duo Khidja melt things down into a broken gloopy pool of trippiness before label bossman Harold Boué closes the show under his Abstraxion alias.
